The Agricultural Society of India (ASI), through its official journal Indian Agriculturist, is committed to fostering high-quality academic publishing in the field of agriculture and allied sciences. Our publication policy reflects the Society’s dedication to maintaining scholarly integrity, promoting original research, and ensuring open and equitable access to scientific knowledge. ASI encourages contributions from researchers, professionals, and students, and aims to uphold the highest standards of editorial transparency, peer review, and publication ethics.

1. Objectives of Publication

The Agricultural Society of India (ASI), through its official journal Indian Agriculturist, is committed to disseminating high-quality, original research and scholarly analysis across various domains of agriculture and allied sciences, including sustainable farming, agri-economics, soil and crop management, agri-technology, and rural development.

  • To promote academic excellence and advance evidence-based agricultural research.

  • To serve as a platform for dialogue and exchange among researchers, practitioners, students, and policymakers.

  • To support informed decision-making and innovation in agriculture through scholarly contributions.

2. Types of Publications

ASI accepts and publishes a wide variety of contributions, including but not limited to:

  • Editorial Opinions and Commentary

3. Submission Guidelines

  • All submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

  • Authors must ensure academic rigor, accurate citations, and adherence to ethical writing practices.

  • Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with ASI’s formatting and referencing guidelines (APA or IJA style), available upon request or submission.

  • A cover letter must accompany the manuscript, including the title, author details, and a declaration of originality.

4. Peer Review Process

  • Each submission undergoes an initial screening by the editorial board to assess relevance and quality.

  • Suitable manuscripts are sent for double-blind peer review to maintain impartiality and academic integrity.

  • Authors will receive reviewer feedback and may be asked to revise their work before final acceptance.

  • The final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief, based on reviewer recommendations and editorial standards.

5. Ethics and Integrity

  • ASI enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy against plagiarism and unethical practices.

  • All submissions are screened using reliable plagiarism detection software.

  • Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest.

  • Data, figures, and findings presented in submissions must be verifiable and based on sound methodology.

6. Open Access and Licensing

  • All accepted publications are freely accessible on ASI’s official website to promote widespread dissemination of agricultural knowledge.

  • Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA) license, permitting non-commercial use with appropriate credit and shared licensing.

7. Copyright and Author Rights

  • Authors retain the copyright of their published work.

  • By submitting to ASI, authors grant the Society the right to publish, archive, and distribute the work.

  • ASI reserves the right to edit submissions for clarity, grammar, formatting, and consistency with journal standards.
